Our School Vision - A Small School with a Big Heart
At Greenhaugh Primary School we aim to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where staff and children work together to create a happy, secure, caring and stimulating environment. This will be in partnership with parents, governors and the wider community.
All children are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential, to develop responsibility, self-esteem, respect for others and their environment.
This will be achieved through a broad and balanced curriculum in both an indoor and outdoor environment, with high quality teaching and learning experiences that will encourage curiosity, develop enquiring minds and promote their confidence to try new challenges.
Aims of the school
As a Staff team we worked to produce our Greenhaugh Code, a list of characteristics that we want to foster in our school.
Kind - we want our children to be kind to one another and to themselves
Respectful - we want our children to know how to interact with adults and each other
Unique - we want our children to see how unique and wonderful they are
Curious- we want our children to be filled with curiosity about their learning in school and the world they live in. We want them to understand that you can learn through questioning.
Ambitious - we want our children to strive to be the best they can be
Confident - we want our children to be confident of their own abilities
Independent - we want our children to have the skills to work and play independently
Resilient - we want our children to understand that things don't always come easily and to place value in trying their best and not giving up.
Team players - we want our children to be able to collaborate with others and work as a team
Our children work together as the "Green Team." The Green Team has written the charter below, explaining what they want to be like as adults. In school we are working towards helping them achieve these aspirations.
Green Team has decided that when we grow up we want to be;
Happy, adventurous, strong and healthy, kind, confident, good at what we do, creative, life long learners, proud of ourselves, good friends, curious, generous, positive people.
